About

My name is Shevaun, and I’m a grad student living in D.C.

Want to know about the point of this blog? Read my first post. Grad school has been doing all it can to interfere with my extracurricular activities, including cooking. However, if I didn’t have somewhere to write about it, I would probably be eating grilled cheese sandwiches every day. So blogging is fulfilling its purpose to some extent.

In case you’re wondering, my mom made me the apron I’m wearing in the picture. It says “Miss Smarty” all over. It also features numerous frills.

Things I Like:

  • Cookies (obviously)
  • Food processors that work (I have one of those now!)
  • Things made in a blender
  • Sandwiches
  • Impressively large pieces of meat
  • Jokes about “impressively large meat”
  • Parentheses

Things I don’t like:

  • Dull knives
  • “Ants on a log” (seriously, ick)
  • Corn mixed into anything
  • Casseroles made with cans of soup (I think we can all agree on that one)
  • Any baked good made from a box (I had forgotten people did that until I returned to school)

  1. Hi Shevaun , Found your blog , very interesting. Didnt know you were so much into cooking.
Well I could barely remember the pointer to your blog and I have also been wondering that I didnt get your email id . But this could be one way to contact you :) . Hope you had a good trip from WA State to Washington DC and are now settling .

  2. Hi, Shevaun. I am Brad’s Mom…I do believe you know him? I found your blog in a very strange way..I, too, am a foodie and I was looking online for a cookie cookbook and I thought the name of your blog was the name of the book. Hmmm, somewhere in my hollow brain I must have heard Brad mention your blog and it came out today!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family. Keep my son in line, and give him a smooch for me!
